GENTING (at last)

Date: 13th December 2007
Venue: Genting (Doh)
Participants: Krystine, Jaclyn, Justin, Rachel, Michelle and Your's truly
Days late for this post: >20

Hello Hello, at long last it is up, the GENTING post, the trip that my girlfriend and I have been thinking about (but not doing much about) for more than 6-8 months. Not a very initiative couple, I know, but.. ahh well.. Because Krys couldn't get permission for a stayover anywhere, we decided on a daytrip, and well, since my mom had some Genting goodies for me, why not?

Goodies from mom:
1. Outdoor theme park tickets - free entry for the day.
2. 400 (wow) bucks worth of food vouchers in any of the 22 listed restaurants, which by the way, are not cheapo lousy ones.

Who wouldn't go right? The vouchers and tickets expire at the end of Dec, and since mom got no occasion/time to go up Genting, her faithful second son shall bear the burden for her. How noble. woohoo~!

First off, plan was to fetch my gf followed by the rest of the pack and going to KJ LRT station to park. Then, McD's breakfast and bus/cable car tickets at KL Central followed up the journey up the highlands. Malaysia's true to the term "Rubber time", no, not the fact that we produce a lot of it and that they represent the ultimate barrier of intimacy, but because everyone will always be late, aihh... *deflates*

*We reached Bahagia Station an hour later than the designated time*

After a McD's breakfast, ticket buying and boarding the bus, we realize something's amiss. Well, I'm not saying we're always going up Genting, but in out past 3-4 times getting up there, we don't remember stopping at the particular place at which the bus stopped today, which is much lower than the Genting skyline. So we found out after we sent Justin to check on the queue that the Skyline brokedown -_- which is why we're at the ALTERNATE cable car. Heck, I wouldn't even call it a cable car, it looks more like a mini cable bus that fits about 10-15, with the down part being that there were only about 3 vessels. The queue... oh.. the queue.. let's just say it took bout two hours just to board the damn thing. Here's our queue-time pictures

These were taken early in the morning when everyone were still blur, we didn't know the wait ahead for the cable car. We just got off the bus(t), and we were innocent.. Note: past tense used

I never noticed this when we were there taking the pictures, but when I saw the pictures.. It made me laugh =D

Notice the progression of the couple on the right side

Then halfway through the queue, we noticed this very familiar face...

SANTANA lookalike. Nahh, Malaysia's very own Santanana!

Thinking we were close to our target, we noticed a sign from afar, to which I zoomed my camera and found that.. Ahh well..

Took us awhile to reach that "ONE HOUR" target, pardon the fat man and cupids, I needed something to fill space XD

When we were finally hee-ha hi-ho up there at the highlands, oh it felt so good =D Actually, I felt sickly somehow, but it got better after the first ride. Before we got in though, the horror that struck us, fogginess (which could cause theme park closure) and.... the queue... oh.. the queue...

Oh.. My God... Part two?

Nuh Uh, We who possess SPECIAL free passes can take the ALTERNATE path in =D HA, SUCKERS! *points at lousy queuers*

Finally we're in, after some cotton candy (which I refused due to the bad stomach) and the swing-like ride (which kinda cured my headache and stomach), we proceeded to take some pictures, yet again =D We're learning to camwhore, whee~?

This first picture was quickly taken when we got in the theme park, just to prove we were IN it, cuz it looked foggy and somehow we had this feeling it's threatening to close on us again. In the past 3-4 years/visits (one a year), every time we come up, the bloody weather has to screw it up by being fucky foggy, so this time's.. SPECIAL! =D HAPPY!

The view and fog.

Don't Laugh.

I said Don't Laugh! They insisted!

Rachel happily beside her pea-sized cock peacock behind the fog!

Thought we didn't have to queue much after the dumbass cable car queue? Uh, uh, uh, not so fast, long boat ride queue awaited, and what do we usually get when there's a long queue wait?

While the threatening fog may seem intimidating, I found the idea of riding the boat in a fog rather interesting. Much to my dismay, when it was our turn, the fog cleared -_-

Don't try to judge us looking so happy in those orange live jackets, they stink like hell and thankfully, Rachel brought some perfume to de-stink us a lil after the ride. Rule: Do not bend down or your olfactories would regret it.

Summarizes our wait, I like the look on my girlfriend's unprepared face =D And yes, Rachel was looking very intently on my zit, which I did NOT allow her to pop *sulks*

Then there were some pictures that showed more love

=D

This picture somehow shows love

Ideas for the boat ride: RACE

BUT! the dumb boat that Krys and I boarded was retarded, it wasn't working properly, pedal like a raging hamster on the running-wheel and you'll probably move an inch.. only because the waves on the lake carried you. Then there was the funny looking snake that many people bumped with their boats on purpose, and the "race" that Justin and Jaclyn won with much ease, since Rachel and Michelle tried to rescue us back to the harbour by allowing Krys (top right pic) her to latch onto her boat while they pedal. Man, that was hell, it really tired Krys and my legs out -_-"

After the boat ride, we decided to take the spinning spiderman ride. Ok, I forgot the actual name but the designs on the vessel suggests spiderman, and it spins a lot, alright? Jac was too afraid, so she opted out, and Michelle was nice enough to accompany her (only because she's taken the ride before) hahaha

Pre-ride Pride: This was us before the second round, cuz Jac and Mich couldn't find us before the first round from the outside -_- Lookin Brave eh?

Pictured WHILE on the ride

Guess which picture was taken by Mich/Jac and which was by the official photographer?
photographer took the one below
And, I feel out of place in the second photo. They said "Try something special! Pose as excitingly as possible!" Yeah man, I'm the only one doing that -_-

Then, followed the ride where Jaclyn can join with a calm heart.

Yeap, the old-buggy ride (affectionately known as "lou yeh cheh" in cantonese, which directly translates to old grandfather's car.. why eh?) Yeah, it was boring and we were camwhoring, I spoilt the pics, I admit =D haha, Michelle and Justin were not supposed to be in that picture! spoilers! (Krystine who controlled my car's accelerator also seem to 'forget' to brake a lot, which ended up in our car ramming into the car ahead a good number of times... *BANG* Thank goodness it's our friends =D The car behind us showed us the meaning of Karma though)

After all that, we decided we need to have an early dinner, since the last bus down is about 8:00pm or so. So we were browsing through restaurants and tried going to all the classy/expensive sounding Chinese/Western ones (we had RM400 for 6 ppl), which all only opens at 6 =_= We ended up in this place called "Coffee Terrace", which didn't sound all too grand. Looks can be deceiving tho =D Buffet! Food was good too! Don't have many food pictures with me, but here's the highlight for me!

Chocolate fondue! With Grapes (which I avoided for they're full of seeds) and longans! We sneakily used watermelons when the waiter wasn't looking =D and it tasted good, wipe that look off your face!

MmMMmmm...

There's Japanese, Chinese, Local, Indian, pasta, cakes, cookies, loads of dessert and the only thing that they lacked was drinks. Only Sprite and Coke served or somethin, which I had =D Justin and the rest decided to try spending up the vouchers by having cocktails, and one was in a pretty shade of blue; subject to camwhoring.

"Girls...."

Pretty shot my gf took by chance, due to the light that gave the flower a luminescent appearance

There were actually many pictures with the pretty blue cocktail that not surprisingly, tasted only mildly alcoholic (Not strong enough for Justin's liking, that bloody alcoholic).

Here are our 4 pretty girls actually only my girlfriend la showing their gratitude to the four RM100 food vouchers that bought us all a FREE hearty dinner =D It's good that it was hearty but what really mattered was it was FREE! haha, cheapo I am =D

Meaty Michy, Cacklin Jaclyn, Pristine Krystine and Fatal Rachel, nicknames courtesy of yours truly... also known as Jolly Jo =D haha, then there's Thrustin Justin!

Two best friends cuddling up after a happy, filling meal.. hehe =D actually they only wanna bend cuz stomach damn full and big already, or else can see very obvious I'm kidding, dear! =D hahah

And finally, the two group shots taken by the nice waiter who passed by =D

Spot the differences, and who poses more consistently for photos =D It's a skill, that only the trained will possess.

At the end of the night when we were finally heading down, someone sure showed signs of sleepiness..

Actually, the pictures were taken throughout the whole day, he as good as fell asleep while standing there waiting for the rides... -_- How're you gonna live up to the energetic name of "Thrustin Justin" man?

Alas, all good things come to an end, back we go down to places of lower altitude. As serene as the picture looked, we were making a heck loada noise in that gondola of ours, with the song "Pink" by Aerosmith blasting on my phone, Thrustin Justin and I singing to it, and Jaclyn screaming with orgasmic joy in fear (she's got a fear of heights).

I'm looking forward to more of these =)
