To God, be the glory

One of my favourite choir performances.. I love the last part, which is extremely apt for today.

Two great things were achieved today, by God's mercy.
1. My research permit has finally been granted, which means I can finally work in the field and not be caged where I don't want to be.
"I'm outta here"

2. My good Samaritan Sarawakian friend has found me a company that can offer me equipment at almost 2/3 of the price I was so close to paying - the purchasing was stalled at the admin. I acknowledge God's hand here, Hallelujah!

"Seek first His Kingdom, and all these shall be added unto you"

Amin

Good Mourning

I feel stupid, but I know it won't last for long,
I've been guessin, but I could've been guessin wrong.
Put the pieces together..

.. and it all falls apart

As for me, I will continue praising the Name of the Lord

Kinabalu Field Trip (11-12 Feb)

Participants: Student (me) and Supervisor (her)
Route: Mesilau -9 hrs up- Laban Rata (sleep) -5 hrs down- Timpohon Gate

Here's to a Pictures are worth a thousand Words
Tired lady drinks Spritzer at scenic spot to quench thirst (Spritzer ad?)...

as student observes some hardcore lichen growing on the forest floor..
and then there was a waterfall with suspiciously clear, but brownish (tannic) waters..
and there was a heavy backpack. And this the student had to carry...
as he strolled pass pretty ferns..
bright yellow rhododendron flowers..
and colourful moss.
Then the teacher made her pilgrimage up the mountain of gnarly, elfin trees..
to meet with the blazing, epic sun..
that just made every scene more... epic.
Despite the sun, it was cold..
and there were cute (and quick) sunbirds (that were hard to photograph) in the mist, 3200 meters above sea level.
Ring-ring, said my field phone... "Who's there?"
"It's the red rhododendron flowers in the mist"
and there she lurked, behind the vines..
as we observed the minuscule-leaved Leptospermum recurvum.
Work was done,
and knots tied.
Squirrel spotted,
and squirrel ate.

- These squirrels (and shrews - if they have sharper snouts) have been conditioned to come out at the shelters along the hiking trail when they hear the ruffling sound of humans opening their packed food. Have a decent camera and you'll be able to catch a few of them on field.

And then there was the bus that broke-down less than 15 minutes from the airport in KL..
but much to our relief, a saviour was sent, and we were sent to a place of peace and good happiness.

I shall divulge more details when I have time =p

Because I know if I don't post now...

.. I probably will not find the determination/motivation to put anything up for another 10 years. I haven't gathered thoughts nor content etc to post, but here I am, with several extra minutes to waste before adjourning to prayer service.

If I haven't already shouted for joy, let me do it now
"ROAAAAAAAAAAR!"

Funny how it evokes an image of me shouting for Joy, someone I know in church. Why do I shout for joy? Because after a long spell of barrenness, I have finally begun my post grad, the PhD has begun! (Mumbling voice goes "Permanent head damage")

Right on, I started on the 3rd of January 2011. "I've been incredibly busy, so I haven't been posting regular updates and writing up those posts I promised....."

BULLSHIT!

Fact is, I have lost the drive for writing and posting regularly, simply because I have to get out of my comfort zone. I have had the time, but it was spent worrying about my project or doing other similarly, if not more unproductive things. I wanna reignite my lil hobby of writing, and keep it running.

Time to break the cycle and work on that time management, O' ye of little faith!

"O come all ye fat-ful,
joyful and triumph-fun,
O come ye, O come ye to Bat-le-ham"

Promise to be back soon.

'Tis time...

Hello,
before I start writing posts about twin mountains with pictures again, I'll say that I've finally received my leffer of otter.

Till the scholarship is confirmed, I shall hold onto this letter... not physically since it's sent by e-mail. Hallelu-JAH
