What it Takes

"Tell me that you're happy that you're on your own, yeaaaaah,
tell me that it's better when you're all alone... woooahhhh,
tell me that your body doesn't miss my touch,
tell me that my lovin' didn't mean that much,
tell me you weren't dying when you're crying for mee"

The way Aerosmith and Steven Tyler does it.. just gives me the chills every time I hear it.

"The minor fall, the major lift"

For it was an amazing holiday I'll never forget. I speak of the vacation I had in Cameron's, which involved driving in insane, blinding heavy rain for rides both to and from the Highlands. Other than that, it was such a lazy trip that we probably spent half our time in the rooms sleeping and watching tv =D Did 1/3 or so of the Irau trail but had to turn back to avoid casualties and the incoming rain; we had fun nonetheless =D I'll add pictures when I transfer them =p
Photos
Some pre-trip photos first, trial and error with a tripod.
Moon from my house.
My house and moon.
Plant and moon.
Baskin in the moonlight?
Sister the make-shift model. hmm
Monkey Fing Tau
Caught with muka dulan.
Old Town White Coffee, the day the trip began. This was in Mentari, where I got a lil love letter waitin for me in my car right after.
Sepia
Motherficus-loveletterus.
See.. that back left tyre was found to be punctured by a screw when I was getting it pumped. Hence the workshop environment. And my front two tyres are balding, needing a change for I just kissed-a-bumper yesterday when the dude in front me jammed his breaks downhill - I would've made it, but I think my tyres didn't have enough grip no more. No real damage done, and the guy was nice enough to let me off anyway, I'm grateful.
After all the morning shit of receiving a summons, a popped tyre, I'm here in Cabana (Ss15) eating a nice lil lunch when we noticed this jigsaw. Hmmm.. Boy sittin in frying pan with egg between legs. tralala. It rained like crazy after that - which was when we began ascending Cameron's. Took the wrong exit once by trying a new road and wasted about an hour (geez). Nevertheless, we got up safe and sound.

....
AAAAAAAAnd we're in Tanah Rata's T-Cafe, 7.30pm-ish :p
As we waited for our food.
Shim began to brood.
Dorin gave me this stare which was a little rude. The many faces of Dorin.
And we're at supper, the only picture I found worth showing. Shim looking devilish and Dorin somewhat angelic.

Despite sleeping late the first night, we got up for the sun rise the next day, here's the "Sunrise Series"
It was one of the cloudiest mornings I've seen up there, with a proper, viewable unobscured sunrise too.
The North-Eastern direction.
Lots of pink and orange too, I like.
Beautiful morning
Jump into this bed of fluffy clouds
and let it dissolve all your doubts
Brilliant streaks of pink and yellow
yet he remained there, alone and mellow
Alone we weren't, for there were others
who shared a common love for colours

So rose the massive fireball
up and up, in a turtle crawl.

(some Shim taken pictures here on, good job dude)
I like this picture a lot.
this too

Sunset? or sunrise? Frankly, I can't tell anymore.

Another lovely Shim-taken picture.
And the boy that is Yee Hou.

Watch our increasingly amused expressions as we anticipate the 'howl' my camera lets out at the end of every self-timed shot.
It all began fine
but they giggled as each lost their mindThere's something there; that which you cannot find.
"and beyond the mist and the fog, I see her snowy white tail feathers shine, they're from heaven"

It's been so long since I felt this good =p

"Now she's flappin her wings, oh that silly bird.
She tries to fly, she falls, I catch her so she won't get hurt"

Guess where I'll be going for a vacation for the weekend?

CAMERON HIGHLANDS

I kid you not, I am taking a few friends up there for their first time (and my 7th this year) for a leisurely trip (to hike and be touristy, something I've yet to really achieve over there really.

So.. Hurray, hope no one dies

The lab 5 motto:

"Whatever you do, don't die"

Kuantan (8th-9th March)

Tralala, a Tse Yuen, Shen and I trip to Kuantan where Tse Yuen and I shamelessly stayed at Shen's place, ate her food and used her parents as tour guides. Plus, they paid for... all our food (I just realized we didn't pay for any of our food, damn). Thank you, Shen and Shen parents, for the superb hospitality and kindness you have shown us (Long grammy winning speech tralala). Picture time!

And hello, Shen's little star, sittin here in her car. On our way to Kuantan (thank goodness I'm spared from driving), Shen's hometown, I finally got to meet this lil thing that I saw Shen cuddling up with in the bus to Ma'Daerah, about a year ago =) It's the most fun lil beanie thing I've seen... but it's getting a lil... outta beans? ya know, stretched and all that... Shen must put it through a lot :(
And... I forgot which rest house this was.
Shen's got hi-good-morning-I-just-woke-up hairTse Yuen... I had breakfast with him. Now I remember.
Shen-eyes while she drives.
Mr. Cool.
Mr. Cool Cool Bird. A kingfisher we saw on our early peat swamp scouting trip with Shen's mum =)
Mr. Macaranga (a plant genus, one that his study focuses on) scouting the place.Which were at some parts, being brutally decimated by horny flames licking at them. Man-made fires, awooooga!
Open pha-yur. Roar.
Sakura... nah, this was just outside where we were having cendol =D
Shen's sacred garden.
Peat Swamprass.
And more, while we're being taken on a tour by Shen herself and her parents. Really nice people, I must say. Oh yeas, I must add, Shen's mum recognized me the moment she met me. She's been going on facebook where her daughter's friends (Tse Yuen the $#&$&) have been posting rather.. outstanding pictures of myself. She knew my name even before I introduced myself. She also recognized Tse Yuen, only not his name.

Psssssst, Shen's mum also said that I'm handsome and that Tse Yuen looks very cute, LIKE A GIRL! BWAHAHAHAHAAH
More black waters.
And a man-made drainage, which can be really bad for the peat swamp forests. If I haven't already mentioned this, the water's black because of a substance called 'tannins' from the leaves that leach out from fallen leaves into the water. It's the same stuff you get in tea, actually, though I won't recommend a peat swamp tea party.
The highway, flanked by peat swamps.
That cool car parked at the side is the one that very kindly ferried the two fei chais (Tse Yuen and I) around to look at peat swamps (that are probably quite uninteresting to the layman).
Fei chai.
Part 2.
Yeah, him again.
The sequel to "Finding Nemo". Starring, Fei Chai Yuen who plays an emotional brown starfish roaming the deserted highways of Kuantan. This March 2009, coming to cinemas near you: "Finding Emo".
Damselfly
Dragoooon flai
Nice damselfly (nice because it held still for me)
Stream with locals fishing. The reflections on the water makes it seem like the stream's sortta magical, with silvery waters. Too many fairy tales. Woops.
Tadah!
There was once when we saw this flame at night on our way to Ma'Daerah when a certain girl exclaimed "That's the oil refinery" when the whole busload of people ridiculed at her. That girl was Shen. She was right
>_<
And there goes fei chai, checkin his forests out again.
Enough of forests for a while (I filtered all the uninteresting ones we took). Let's take the lazy girl who decided to stay in the car while we checked the forests out.
And then we saw Shen's twin on the tree.. whom I found cuter than her sister =p *lari kuat kuat*
In this picture: the kind people who manufactured Shen. Thanks for everything!
And the product of the aforementioned kind people, standing proud (and sometimes, loud). We came to this beach during the night and it was packed, a little too crowded, but nevertheless, a good emo spot. hahah, I mean, it's nice to just relax, listen to waves, caress soft, cool sand while staring at that big round, yellow sphere and its greyish, cloudy sidekicks. Very soothing.
The morning before we left, at a usual breakfast spot for Shen's family, where we had Nasi lemak with wild board curry (quite tender) hmmm.. Actually, I kinda like the makan-places in Kuantan, they all seem really nice and.. relaxed, and kinda gives an old school vibe. Their normal coffee-shop drinks are usually quite nice too =D
Antique cock klok
*Slurrp slurrp*
Behold, Kuantan river.
Sad Kuantan girl by Kuantan river (with a piece of Kuantan rubbish on the Kuantan floor).
Part 2.
Miaow, she caught me. This is the same girl who exclaimed "Maa, he's gay!!" while pointing at me to her mom the first time I was introduced to her. Very funny -_- Her mom didn't believe her. She could sense the strong heterosexual vibe that I was emanating. hahah
I like the 'sepia' effect.
Yes I do.
Old school!
In case you forgot where we were.
This, my friends, is the Kuantan Cat.
who can be a lot more adorable than either Shen or (the unadorable) Tse Yuen. "Adoreiiiii" (some random foreign language comment I saw on youtube, I presume used to express adoration)

Now friends, before we move on.. I'd like you all to know I still love my guitars, both Jasmine and Emma.. and all the guitar effects pedals I bought and still love. But, the flesh is weak, and I've found myself a new friend.. in the form of...
Hermie, the harmonica
My (not so) new Kuantan chick who's currently right beside me (I played with her all the way on the trip back from Kuantan, much to Tse Yuen and Shen's horror - that was the experimental stage when the sounds emitted were worst - sorry guys). Well, least I got myself a Kuantan chick for this trip =p (Not referring to Shen in any way).
