Kuantan (8th-9th March)

Tralala, a Tse Yuen, Shen and I trip to Kuantan where Tse Yuen and I shamelessly stayed at Shen's place, ate her food and used her parents as tour guides. Plus, they paid for... all our food (I just realized we didn't pay for any of our food, damn). Thank you, Shen and Shen parents, for the superb hospitality and kindness you have shown us (Long grammy winning speech tralala). Picture time!

And hello, Shen's little star, sittin here in her car. On our way to Kuantan (thank goodness I'm spared from driving), Shen's hometown, I finally got to meet this lil thing that I saw Shen cuddling up with in the bus to Ma'Daerah, about a year ago =) It's the most fun lil beanie thing I've seen... but it's getting a lil... outta beans? ya know, stretched and all that... Shen must put it through a lot :(
And... I forgot which rest house this was.
Shen's got hi-good-morning-I-just-woke-up hairTse Yuen... I had breakfast with him. Now I remember.
Shen-eyes while she drives.
Mr. Cool.
Mr. Cool Cool Bird. A kingfisher we saw on our early peat swamp scouting trip with Shen's mum =)
Mr. Macaranga (a plant genus, one that his study focuses on) scouting the place.Which were at some parts, being brutally decimated by horny flames licking at them. Man-made fires, awooooga!
Open pha-yur. Roar.
Sakura... nah, this was just outside where we were having cendol =D
Shen's sacred garden.
Peat Swamprass.
And more, while we're being taken on a tour by Shen herself and her parents. Really nice people, I must say. Oh yeas, I must add, Shen's mum recognized me the moment she met me. She's been going on facebook where her daughter's friends (Tse Yuen the $#&$&) have been posting rather.. outstanding pictures of myself. She knew my name even before I introduced myself. She also recognized Tse Yuen, only not his name.

Psssssst, Shen's mum also said that I'm handsome and that Tse Yuen looks very cute, LIKE A GIRL! BWAHAHAHAHAAH
More black waters.
And a man-made drainage, which can be really bad for the peat swamp forests. If I haven't already mentioned this, the water's black because of a substance called 'tannins' from the leaves that leach out from fallen leaves into the water. It's the same stuff you get in tea, actually, though I won't recommend a peat swamp tea party.
The highway, flanked by peat swamps.
That cool car parked at the side is the one that very kindly ferried the two fei chais (Tse Yuen and I) around to look at peat swamps (that are probably quite uninteresting to the layman).
Fei chai.
Part 2.
Yeah, him again.
The sequel to "Finding Nemo". Starring, Fei Chai Yuen who plays an emotional brown starfish roaming the deserted highways of Kuantan. This March 2009, coming to cinemas near you: "Finding Emo".
Damselfly
Dragoooon flai
Nice damselfly (nice because it held still for me)
Stream with locals fishing. The reflections on the water makes it seem like the stream's sortta magical, with silvery waters. Too many fairy tales. Woops.
Tadah!
There was once when we saw this flame at night on our way to Ma'Daerah when a certain girl exclaimed "That's the oil refinery" when the whole busload of people ridiculed at her. That girl was Shen. She was right
>_<
And there goes fei chai, checkin his forests out again.
Enough of forests for a while (I filtered all the uninteresting ones we took). Let's take the lazy girl who decided to stay in the car while we checked the forests out.
And then we saw Shen's twin on the tree.. whom I found cuter than her sister =p *lari kuat kuat*
In this picture: the kind people who manufactured Shen. Thanks for everything!
And the product of the aforementioned kind people, standing proud (and sometimes, loud). We came to this beach during the night and it was packed, a little too crowded, but nevertheless, a good emo spot. hahah, I mean, it's nice to just relax, listen to waves, caress soft, cool sand while staring at that big round, yellow sphere and its greyish, cloudy sidekicks. Very soothing.
The morning before we left, at a usual breakfast spot for Shen's family, where we had Nasi lemak with wild board curry (quite tender) hmmm.. Actually, I kinda like the makan-places in Kuantan, they all seem really nice and.. relaxed, and kinda gives an old school vibe. Their normal coffee-shop drinks are usually quite nice too =D
Antique cock klok
*Slurrp slurrp*
Behold, Kuantan river.
Sad Kuantan girl by Kuantan river (with a piece of Kuantan rubbish on the Kuantan floor).
Part 2.
Miaow, she caught me. This is the same girl who exclaimed "Maa, he's gay!!" while pointing at me to her mom the first time I was introduced to her. Very funny -_- Her mom didn't believe her. She could sense the strong heterosexual vibe that I was emanating. hahah
I like the 'sepia' effect.
Yes I do.
Old school!
In case you forgot where we were.
This, my friends, is the Kuantan Cat.
who can be a lot more adorable than either Shen or (the unadorable) Tse Yuen. "Adoreiiiii" (some random foreign language comment I saw on youtube, I presume used to express adoration)

Now friends, before we move on.. I'd like you all to know I still love my guitars, both Jasmine and Emma.. and all the guitar effects pedals I bought and still love. But, the flesh is weak, and I've found myself a new friend.. in the form of...
Hermie, the harmonica
My (not so) new Kuantan chick who's currently right beside me (I played with her all the way on the trip back from Kuantan, much to Tse Yuen and Shen's horror - that was the experimental stage when the sounds emitted were worst - sorry guys). Well, least I got myself a Kuantan chick for this trip =p (Not referring to Shen in any way).
