What have I been up to?

In the last 9 or so months, I have been pregnant. Pregnant not with another human, but with ideas and a proposal for my future PhD project. Praise God, I have only moments ago, given birth (the baby is being examined by the Dr. right now.. Dr. Cathy). Procrastinate no more, you fool of 5' 2".

In the last 40 days, I have eaten no meat (or none knowingly anyway) because I participated in a 40 day prayer and fast program initiated by NECF (National Evangelical Church Fellowship) with participants all over Malaysia. Participation was entirely voluntary and choice of fasting too, was of my own choice. We were supplied with a prayer booklet for prayer items for each of the 40 days, with these items revolving mostly around the nation and her people's wellbeing. I've grown closer to God just spending this time praying nightly. I broke fast this afternoon by (intentionally) tasting my first bit of meat in 40 days, in the form of hot and spicy KFC. Thigh.

Throughout the semester periods of the entire year thus far, I have been mostly bogged down by marking reports. It's ridiculous sometimes. It was one of the causes for my lack of inspiration to continue my PhD proposal writing. But I guess knowing there's a deadline on the 22nd September did help my lazy procrastinating ass finish it up quickly. I had 9 months, and I did 60-70% of the proposal in the last 48 hours. Someone hit me. Students and their reliance on due dates. I must grow out of this. Pfft.

Joined a Christian movement organized by my church (Acts Church) called Campus Revolution (in Monash itself) and been religiously (hehe) meeting every Monday morning in campus for weekly prayers.. at ironically ungodly time: 0730 in campus. Considering the time taken for my morning shower and drive to campus, that would equate to me waking up at about 0630, but it's worth it. Hooha! Jesus! Also, we're currently hand-making bookmarks to be given out to students during the study week so that we can encourage temporary library residents from inclining towards suicidal behaviour. Heh =p That aside, I've met some really fun buddies (juniors, actually) to hang out with through this Campus Revo movement.

Speaking of church, I've joined the church choir and will be on probation for 3 months before I get confirmed. I just served my first session last Sunday on stage and it was fun. I didn't know I needed to wear a tie for the occasion and had to rob a friend's tie for that Sunday. Thank yous Jason Han =p I'm on this Sunday as well, and the colour code for clothes this Sunday is.... Black and Pink.

Lastly, it's the middle of the World Changers Academy (WCA) right now, a leadership conference organized by my church. I attended the first session and I must say, the speakers really do have some good stuff to impart. Reverend Khoo Hin Heong and Datuk Edward Ong. No time for me to sleep before the day starts, but I know it's gonna be good.

Really, it looks like I just counted my blessings =p

Hallelujah
