I was just shown a 2006 concert performance of Deep Purple. Their lead singer, Ian Gillan, 63, once considered a foremost rock vocalist, is but a shadow of his former self. It's kinda sad really, he sang off-key and was struggling to hit the notes, and only sounded mediocre in all that blood, sweat and tears.
Conversely...
Steven Tyler, 60, as I've seen in my Aw-Yeah Birthday Aerosmith DVD, is still freakin awesome when it comes to hittin those high notes. Well, save for that dismal 2007 performance of 'Crazy', in which he screwed up the song's ending. Actually, he never really got that song down well in live performances as Youtube shows, but it's never been as bad as that 2007 performance in Argentina, geez. Nevertheless (Quoting Dr. Emily), Steven Tyler, you're freakin amazin for singing like that at 60
